work has been initiated by CEEMAN for the
region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)
and Turkey. The research was carried out by
32 experts in 18 countries, over the period of
3 years, and resulted in the recently published
book Hidden Champions in CEE and Turkey,
authored by Peter McKiernan and Danica
Purg. It reveals typical features, the nature
of market leadership and the competitive
advantage, as well as success lessons of those
companies.
DOING THEIR OWN BUSINESS
THEIR OWN WAY
Many HCs are family-owned, headed
by a passionate and authoritarian leader.
Corporate governance is in most cases basic
and simple. They usually deal with a single
product, business-to-business and stay close
to their customers. Majority of them are
v soavtorstvu Petra McKiernana in Danice
Purg. Razkriva znacilnosti teh zanimivih
podjetij, njihove trzne posebnosti in pred-
nosti ter faktorje uspeha.
SVOJ POSEL NA SVOJ NACIN
Veliko SS je druzinskih podjetij, pod
vodstvom zagnanega, karizmaticnega in
avtoritarnega vodje. Upravljanje podjetja je
na osnovnem nivoju. Obicajno gre za proiz-
vodnjo enega samega izdelka, za B2B tip
poslovanja, v tesnem stiku s kupcem. Vecina
podjetij je visoko inovativnih z vrhunsko
kvaliteto in storitvijo. Ostajajo diskretni in
se razen stikov s kupci in dobavitelji ne zelijo
izpostavljati. Osredotocajo se na zahod in na
novo nastajajoce trge, zlasti na trzne nise.
Kar zadeva finance, se v skoraj v 80% prim-
erov financirajo sami, iz dobicka ali iz last-
nikovih prihrankov.
Prof. Danica Purg, coauthor of the
book, Hidden Champions in CEE and
Turkey:
»Hidden champions in Serbia
are predominantly technological
companies. This is a highly innovative
sector that the government could
support more with incentives so
as help those to grow and develop
further. «
Prof. dr. Danica Purg, soavtor
knjige Hidden Champions in CEE
and Turkey: "Skriti sampioni v
Srbiji so v najvecji meri tehnoloska
podjetja. To je visoko inovativen
sektor, ki bi ga lahko drzava bolj
podpirala z olajsavami in tako
doprinesla k njihovi nadaljnji rasti
in razvoju."
