"Dr Miln vnvi Btut" is

a national institution for public

health which provides advice, support and

guidance to the government of the Republic of

Serbia, and conducts independent researches

in the field of public health. The main areas

the Institute works in are: analysis, planning

and organization of health care, informatics

with biostatistics, health promotion, control

and prevention of diseases, hygiene, and

human ecology and microbiology.

Informatics and Biostatistics Centre of

the Institute for Public Health coordinates

the development and realization the health

information system at the state level, organizes

and manages the works related to methodology,

normative system, as well as conduction of

statistical researches in the field of health

system. The Centre gathers data related to

health and health care application, costs and

financing of the health system, maintains

health care resource databases, provides data

from population researches, in other words,

provides health information for effective

reporting on health for state authorities, public,

and international institutions. The Centre

has three organizational units, Biostatistics

Department, Software Development and

Database Administration Department,

and Computer Maintenance and Network

Administration Department. The team of

employees has 19 experts in the health and IT

field, 10 of which have a university degree.

Following the trends in the IT industry,

the Institute for Public Health of Serbia

strives to enable its users easy and fast access

to information, as well as its processing,

according to its statutory powers. Led by

this as the basic principle, in the first half of

2012 in the cooperation with the Ministry of

Health of the Republic of Serbia, the Institute

developed new methodology for recording

and monitoring data on medical devices of

national importance in the health system.

Apart from the Medical Device Nomenclature,

also developed was the software which enables

continuous input, updating, and monitoring

data at all levels of the health system (medical

facility, regional institutes of public health,

national institute for public health, Ministry

of Health). The software is web-based,

Pratei trendove u IT industriji, Insti-

tut za javno zdravlje Srbije nastoji da svojim

korisnicima omogui lak i brz pristup po-

dacima, kao i njihovu obradu, u skladu sa

zakonskim ovlasenjima. Voen time, kao

osnovnim principom, Institut je u prvoj

polovini 2012. godine, u saradnji sa Mini-

starstvom zdravlja Republike Srbije, izra-

dio novu metodologiju za evidentiranje i

praenje podataka o medicinskoj opremi

od nacionalnog znacaja u zdravstvenom

sistemu. Pored Nomenklature medicinske

opreme od nacionalnog znacaja uraen je i

softver koji omoguava kontinuiran unos,
