IKT je pretnja za sektor, evropsku ekonomiju
i ukupnu konkurentnost. CEPIS -ova radna
grupa ,,Zene u IKT" tokom 2012. bila je veo-
ma aktivna da ohrabri i podstakne intereso-

kroz studije i karijeru.
Korak napred
Informatika je svakako novo naucno
polje u poreenju sa ustaljenim disciplinama,
poput prava ili medicine. Ovo donosi mnogo
izazova i istovremeno visok nivo odgovor-
nosti obzirom da veina elementa profesije
treba tek da se definise. Biti u stanju da
shvati i da se nosi sa ovim promenama da-

CEPIS-a je doprinos u razvijanju kompjuter-
skih vestina Evropljana. Ipak, kontinuirani
napredak u IKT od nas zahteva da ve danas
permanentno preispitavamo vestine koje su
potrebne IKT profesionalaciima sutrasnjice.
Iz tog razloga CEPIS e nastaviti da se i dalje
trudi da postane jos jaca i efikasnija mreza

has been at the forefront of addressing the
key problems and challenges affecting the
ICT profession. A variety of Task Forces and
Special Interest Groups (SIN) were created to
pool expertise from Member Societies. Their
names and composition changed over time to
reflect the evolution of the profession but their
contribution to ICT debates always proved to
be valuable.
The CEPIS Legal and Security SIN
produces regular statements on issues within
Europe that are of particular importance to
CEPIS members and to society as a whole.
This group recently published a position paper
which highlights a series of issues to take into
a consideration with regard to data protection
and privacy.
As the leading organisation of
European ICT professionals in Europe, CEPIS
is committed to mobilising its members to
promote Green ICT and contributing to the
protection of environment through ICT. The
CEPIS Green ICT Task Force published the
report Energy Efficient Enterprise in Europe in
2011 to examine awareness regarding energy
consumption of ICT equipment and policies
within organisations.
The lack of women in ICT careers is a
threat for the sector, the European economy
and competiveness overall. CEPIS setup
the Women in ICT Task Force in 2012 to
encourage and stimulate the interest of young
girls to engage in ICT-related studies and
careers. This Task Force launched early this
year a platform of women in ICT role models
with a view to inspire European youth, and
in particular young girls, to consider a career
in ICT.
The Way Ahead
Informatics is a rather young field
when compared to well-established disciplines
such as law or medicine. This brings a lot of
challenges and at the same time a high level
of excitement given that most elements of the
profession remain to be defined. Being able to
understand and cope with these changes was,
and continues to be, key to the success of CEPIS
which contributed vastly to developing the
computer skills of Europeans. Yet continuous
advances in ICT require us to reconsider the
skills needed by tomorrow's ICT professionals.
For this reason CEPIS will continue to reinvent
itself to become an even stronger and more
effective network of European informatics
professionals in the 21st century.
